Swanley Laundry, Spring 2006 |
| This is a special site to me. It was the first one that I
discovered myself [by keep my eyes open]. I can remember the thrill of
the first time I walked around there - I knew I loved it then. Despite the damage and security - It was a pretty decent explore. Whenever I went back I'd find something new there. The second time I went I can remember finding one of the underground parts. Right up until the end I was making new discoveries. Needless to say - I learnt alot from here. Lessons like being careful [nearly falling through a floor], not being afraid of security [I wandered about here as if I owned the place alot of the time] and it just got me used to the whole Urbex idea. Security ruined the site - by not doing anything. Security was sitting there, with his Rottweiler tied up [coincidentally, that Rottweiler stayed on site. It had no warm home to go to.. That was its home.] doing NOTHING. I saw him come out ONCE in all of my visits. The Rottweiler coincidentally never seemed fussed. I had walked around in its full view before and it would just watch alot of the time. Hardly the alert working dog image. Then again, I have my doubts about the treatment of it - I was tempted to go to the RSPCA and Police a few times but never did. [Much to my shame I must admit] I'd go as far as to say, if I had never found this site - I wouldn't be into Urbex to the extent I am. Thats why it's so sad to see the demolition teams there at the moment. Pic 1: Normal entrance Pic 2: View of the rear Pic 3: This was decorated almost like a nursery... Pic 4: Security gaurd... NOT SLEEPING?! Its a miracle... Pic 5: Note the dog crap just left there, the empty water bowl and discarded bottle. Pic 6: Side view Pic 7: Fire regulations Pic 8: Darkness... |
