Deja Vu Nightclub, January 2007 |
| If Deja Vu was one of the premier night club companies,
as many
websites suggest, then its Swanley club was one of the best. Sadly, Due
to many violent incidents and "accidents" the club was forced to close
in 2006. Within a matter of a few months it was in bad shape. In Januarty 2007 I finally noticed the club was perfect to explore, despite going past it everyday. So one evening Spotlight and I took a trip down there. Once we arrived we found access was all to easy, simply walking through a door. We found stacks and stacks of cutlery, pasta and other items. The club itself was in a bad state. Months of chav damage had ruined much of the club - But it wasn't without its charm. Within the 2 days of me posting a report on 28dayslater, the club was subjected to an arson attack [BBC NEWS ARTICLE] which caused damage to the staff only part - where the owner/manager would've lived. [Yeah, They lived on top] The Police didn't seem to do much investigation into the incident, even going as far as to liken my trespassing into an abandoned premises to trespassing into someones house. [Surely the intent in the second example is to commit a crime [i.e Burglary] and as such the crime would be Criminal Trespass, No?] This statement being issued as I actually came forward to help. The site is still open, still falling to bits... and still listed. Maybe fire was a way that those lovely developers could cure the illness that is a Listed Building? We shall never know... Now, Onto the photos! 1. The bull of birchwood.. 2. A view across to the road... 3. Some of the drink related items littered about the place. 4. Broken windows... 5. Some weird powder 6. Looking out onto the car park 7. Restin' in style.. |
